Hi everyone,
I noticed the contact.idblog.html and contact.default.html files in the Freshy v2 theme tpl folder. Are the these there for a reason? Can I use these in place of plugin or are they meant to use with a certain plugin?
Thanks!

Hi,
They are meant to be used with the contactMe plugin, which provide a contact form for your visitors. In order to use it, you have to copy contact.idblog.html replace idblog with your blog ID in the file name.

Okay. I did that and it works but the display gets messed up when I activate it. Something went wrong with it.
Here's a link to see what it looks like: http://www.sc9.net/index.php?contact
The contact I use now (in the menu) is a workaround using a "contact me" script combined with the static pages plugin. I'd like to switch to the contact me plugin though.
I'll fuss around with it tomorrow. Getting late.. Thanks!

Well I’d say it doesn’t work ;-)
it seems I was mistaken. Does it work better if you just rename contact.idblog.html in contact.html ?

I tried that and I got the same results. I then renamed it to xxx.html to see what would happen and I got the same results .... wtf?!
Inside the plugin folder contactMe > default-templates is a file named contact_me.html. I tried renaming it to contact.default.html and contact.html. Both changes came up with the DotClear "something went wrong with your template" error. This plugin works fine in other templates. Freshy2 just doesn't like it so much. I'll poke around the theme files and see if I can figure out what div or other marker may be causing the problem.

the file name in default-template is the file name you have to use, not rename.
So, rename contact.idblog.html in contact_me.html and it should do the trick ;-)

Okay it's displaying the form now but not correctly. All the tpl tags are showing and the form functions don't work obviously. I'll have to check the plugin file against the theme file and see if I can find what's causing this.

Well, I’m affraid you’ll have to choose the Contact plugin instead of Contact Me (they both have similar purpose) : the templates in Freshy2 probably fit to that plugin and not contact Me

I have an update. Contact me doesn't work in any theme I use. I have uninstalled the plugin and cleared the sql entries (which by the way, aren't getting cleaned out when a plugin is deleted!) emptied the themes cache, and re-installed the plugin. From this link http://www.sc9.net/index.php?contact you can see that the whole form is being rendered wrong and unusable. I have verified the file is formatted in utf-8. Can you have the author take a peek at what might be going wrong? I have removed the two (contact......html) theme files from freshy2 (updated 21Nov) so I know it is not the theme files getting in the way.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for your time.

It seems you’re trying tu use the contact Me plugin with the Contact plugin template. Try uninstalling contact Me and use Contact instead ;-)

I didn't have the Contact plugin installed during all this so I really can't see what may have getting in the way. Regardless I uninstalled ContactMe (then cleared the database of it's settings entries) and installed Contact. http://www.sc9.net/index.php?contact
So, looks like I'll be fiddling with the Contact files to get it to display right. Or, keep using the ad-hock method I am using now.
Thanks for trying to help me out Lomalarch. I appreciate it. If I get it working for current theme I'll drop a note in this thread.
Thanks again

Hello
What is the version of your Freshy2 ? The lats version must be ok.
If the plugin is contact (by k-net), the good file is tpl/default/contact_idblog.html
You must copy it in tpl and rename inidblog with the good id.
if the plugin is contact_me, the good file is tpl/default/contact_me.html
You must copy it in tpl.

Hi peirrevg,
Tahnks! That did the trick. Lomalarch, maybe you were trying tel the the same thing but I never made the connection about the two contact files in Freshy to be used with the two different contact plugins. All is right now. :)
Thanks for all the help!

I’m glad you worked it out. pierrevg is, indeed, more accurate, for he knows the theme, he worked on it ;-)
