Aggregation options

I have been using Olivier's https://svn.dotclear.net/lab/plugins/planet but it's not yet compatible with v2.2/HEAD.

Unfortunately, I had to turn it (and autoBackup) off when I upgraded DC, to avoid spamming my site visitors with all the warnings: http://chris.extrapepperoni.com/

I tried backing down to r2919, r2910, & r2891 (2.1.6 backports), but my themes were lost until I returned to HEAD. I suspect the style tags are broken, because the URLs start with//.// under those revisions, vs. http:// (which works) in HEAD.

> <style type="text/css" media="print">
> @import url(//../default/print.css);
> </style>
>
> <script type="text/javascript" src="//../default/js/jquery.js"></script>
> <script type="text/javascript" src="//../default/js/jquery.cookie.js"></script>

I have disabled all incompatible plugins until things are sorted.

But planet isn't what I really want. It copies all posts from 3 other blogs (in the same DC installation) into a new blog, and I then use that new RSS feed. I'd much rather not duplicate the posts, and just get an aggregated RSS stream referring to those posts in their original.

Does http://plugins.dotaddict.org/dc2/details/openplanet or http://plugins.dotaddict.org/dc2/details/OtherBlog do this? I cannot find English docs for either, to know if they do what I want.

Thanks!

Chris

From what I understand of your need, I would rather recommend you this one : http://lab.dotclear.org/wiki/plugin/multiBlogFeeds

Re : Aggregation options

Cool, but how do I enable it? I installed it, but only see _define.php & _public.php, and cannot find a way to enable or configure it.

I don't want all blogs on my site in the feed, and I don't see any indication of what the URL is for the new consolidated feed(s). The only English explanation I can find is: "Add new plugin multiBlogFeeds (url feed of posts or comment for multiblog)."

Sorry, I believe that it will be a problem, as I needed this feature and could not use it for this very same reason. I opened a ticket on the plugin's page in the Lab, but do not know if the author will do it shortly.

If I have time to spare I will look into it and will let you know here, but it will not be before Christmas.

Another solution could be to use a service like feedburner, did you give it a try ?

Re : Aggregation options

So is there any way to include RSS streams from a selection of other dotclear blogs on the same installation (or even better, arbitrary atom/RSS streams) into a DC blog?

multiBlogFeed doesn't appear to be configurable.
planet copies whole posts into the destination (and is incompatible with 2.1.6).
openplanet isn't compatible with 2.1.6.
I'm not sure about otherblog, zoneclear, and galaxy.

Re : Aggregation options

OtherBlog could do the trick, or you could try feedEntries or yafr. I’m not sure what you are trying to do precisely :-)

Re : Aggregation options

For http://chris.extrapepperoni.com/ I want to enter (currently 3) atom/RSS feeds. I do this with planet, but it isn't being maintained.

I want to create a pair of new feeds (atom & RSS), containing every article from those source feeds, pointing back to the original posts in the original blogs. Planet duplicates the posts into the planet blog, which I don't want.

Thanks, I'll check out OB, fE, & yafr!
