I have just started to get acquainted to DotClear, and began doing some edition on Berlin theme's css and html files.
My question is: will I lose my customizations when I next update DotClear to a future new version?

Hi,
If you take care to put your CSS personal rules in a separate file, included in user_head.html, you will not have any problem.
Example code of user_head.html:
<!-- # This template is included at the end of _head.html template -->
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{{tpl:BlogThemeURL}}/personal.css" media="screen" />

Thanks for you answer, Franck.
I would also have to edit some Berlin theme's .html files, so I'd better rename the theme so to be safe, I guess, right?

If you need to modify html files as well, you should make your new theme a child of Berlin : https://dotclear.org/documentation/2.0/ … nheritance

The Berlin theme has only one own .html file (user_footer.html), so every other .html files modified will not be overwrited or deleted at next updates.
But you also can do as Philippe said, doing a child theme of Berlin.
