Change database

Hi

I am running dotclear with database sqlite at the moment. Is there any possibility to change the database without loosing the current data? So is there any tool to convert data from sqlite to mysqli?

Thanks.

Re : Change database

You can export one blog, or your whole installation if you have several blogs, with the Maintenance plugin :

Maintenance > Backup > Download database of all blogs (or only current blog)

and then import it in your new database with Import/export plugin

Import/Export > Flat file import > Single blog or Multiple blogs

Before the import, you will have to create the database (MySql or PostGreSql)

Re : Change database

Ok, thank you.

But there is still a logical problem:

1. As admin in dotclear do a backup of the database to file
2. Make a new mysqli database on server
3. Make the tables with the script
4. Change in dotclear config.php the values for the database

But now, how to login into dotclear to do the import the file? The mysqli database is empty and the admin account isn't set there.

Re : Change database

Ok, I made the database change now. But not directly with a conversation of database from sqlite to msql. I made a new installation of dotclear with mysql and then imported data, media and theme into this new installation.

But I had to fix several things before the new installation really worked as the one before.

One question: Is there any function to rebuild the different files for ALL pictures in one task? To do it for every picture - it's quite a big job.

And it seems that not all options and setups are stored in the database - so I had to do it for some plugins again.

But now it seems to work.

Thanks.
